HAVE YOUR SAY

Kiran Mazumdar Shaw
Monday, September 15th, 2008

One of our profiles features the CEO of BIOCON, India's largest biopharmaceutical company. In the full programme to air on BBC WORLD NEWS on October 10th, Mrs. Mazumdar Shaw speaks of her struggle to gain acceptance in Asia as a WOMAN executive. She also speaks of her commitment to social responsibility in her business; as she puts it - "we are part mercenary and part missionary."

Two questions for "Have your say." Is making it as a WOMAN EXECUTIVE more difficult in Asia than in other parts of the world?

And
Corporate Social Responsibility. Especially in developing countries, what level of financial commitment do new industries owe the communities in which they work? Do Asian firms lag behind in this commitment?

just tripped across the website
the BBC should offer more programming on business leaders
Mrs Shaw is an excellent example of the kind of dynamic socially responsible executive of which Asia needs more.
